Young people from around the world gather every year in Washington, D.C. – the capital of the U.S., and one of the USA most important and historical cities – to learn how to make their communities, countries, and regions better places to live and work. As a participant in the program you will have the amazing opportunity to be part of this event FREE of charge. All expenses are covered by CIEE, including the transportation costs. To apply you should: • Sign to the Work & Travel Program with Integral • Send an essay from 300 to 500 words or write a short video on a specific topic Dreams come true when you least expect them to! One of mine became a reality last year when I first visited the USA. The WAT programs are an incredible opportunity that open many doors for your future realization. I had the opportunity to take part in the CIEE Civic Summit competition and even though the first time I was unsuccessful I never gave up and applied once again this year. To my surprise I had the pleasure of being chosen to be one of the 44 students among 2500 candidates taking part in the event. I spent three extremely busy days filled with positivity, enjoyment, cultural exchange experiences and notion about the world around us. Each and everyone who participated in the summit was different in their own way – whether it was a different language, a different religion or a different way of thinking. Nevertheless, each of us gave a bit of ourselves and enriched the experience that we shall remember for a lifetime. What I learned was that no dream is unachievable and no idea is irrealizable. You just have to know where to start from! After this event, I feel even more motivated, filled with hope, desire and purposefulness to make a change in the society I live in. Your life does really change from the books you read, the people you meet and the experiences you have! If one person can make a difference, then together we can change the world.
